It just looks amazing

Hier de locatie van tram 26 naar en van IJburg, die hier onlangs zijn halte heeft gekregen - aan de oostkant van het lange busstation, op de begane grond. Tram 26 rijdt van C.S. Amsterdam naar IJburg en terug.Het gehele C.S.-complex is nu een stationsgebouw geworden met vele gezichten, oude en recente. Toch is het ongelofelijk dat zoveel oude onderdelen èn de oude stationskappen van het oude treinstation er nog staan, en juist door hun nieuwe fundering met betonnen lange palen. Bovendien gaat de metro naar Noord nog eens onder het gebouw door. En is sinds enkele jaren het nieuwe busstation een onderdeel van het C.S. geworden.Ik kom er graag en krijg telkens veel te zien, zowel oud als nieuw.

The stop position is in the other side closing to the river of Amsterdam central station. Go through the central station after the entry, then go up stairs , there you are.

Really nice train station with trains to parts of Europe and also within Netherlands. Also metro, tram and bus stations just adjacent so makes it really handy to plan your onward travel. When travelling between cities, remember to have at least €20 balance on your card or you won't be able to go through the barriers. There are some restaurants, mini supermarket, pharmacy within so if you forgot to buy something- you can always shop there in an emergency. They do have toilets (next to burger king) and you'll need 70 cent in change to use it. Dogs and bikes are allowed on trains though you'll need to pay a supplement for the bike which you can do from the ticket machines.

It's a nice station, a little too crowded for my taste. If you want to go to a less crowded station I suggest you go to the train station Driebergen-zeist, there is nothing to do there so you can be assured of a stress free experience. I do like the extensive food choices around the station, that's something you won't get at Driebergen-zeist. Still not nearly as good as the broodjes kebap from the döner company at station Woerden tho.

Usually great, but the halls have evenings no warmth. I guess in 2023 that should be manageable.

Great historic building, but run down. I was particularly disappointed with the lack of attention to people with a disability. Over a 10 week period at least 1/3 of all the escalators were out of action, as were several of the lifts. Another problem is that the public toilets are not free (this is a problem in much of the Netherlands). On the plus side, NS staff were very helpful.
